Liam: you don’t know if you’re cool until you’ve put my gear on

Saturday, May 21, 2011

LONDON - Photo: the vinyl with the song Man of Misery dedicated to the Pretty Green lovers.
Liam Gallagher about the new album said fans should expect a “massive wall of sound, great anthems and epic tunes”.
The frontman revealed: “We’ve started and it’s sounding good – we’re not messing about. We’ll have bits of time off but we won’t be sitting around watching Jeremy Kyle, we’ll be in the studio. It won’t be out this year, but we’ll record about February and I reckon it’ll be out next summer.”
Gallagher was at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to watch his beloved Manchester City win the FA Cup, but he thinks it’ll be a “long time” before Beady Eye play a show there.
He explained: “I’m not in the mood for doing big gigs just yet. Our first tour was great – it was great starting off again and playing the smaller venues."
Liam added: "The album went down pretty well and it was good to see people’s faces again, but we’ll move on to bigger and better things because album two is gonna be storming.”
Speaking at the launch of his fashion label Pretty Green’s second London store, Gallagher stated that he still only wants cool kids to wear his clothes: “You don’t know if you’re cool until you’ve put my gear on."
"You might have been a bit of a dick before you try mine, but there’s room for everyone. I don’t want no idiots wearing it."
Gallagher continued: “When someone comes up to you and says ‘I like your music’ and they look cool that makes my day, but if they look like a fucking clown I’m wondering if I’m making the right music. I’d hate to see the Queen wearing Pretty Green.”
“I’ve had an amazing week. Opening my store, being in Beady Eye, Man City winning the FA Cup, being alive... life couldn’t get any better.”

right, can I add AC Milan winning the league :)

Pretty Green in Covent Garden opening, with the FA Cup

LONDON - Pretty Green descended onto the Royal Opera House Colonnade last night to await the arrival of rock royalty at the official opening of the Pretty Green Covent Garden store. Founder & designer Liam Gallagher, launched his clothing brand's second London store in front of an eagerly awaiting crowd of Pretty Green fans.
To mark the royal occasion, special guest DJ’s provided top tunes for many guests, including our VIP winners! Also, following the success of Manchester City at Wembley, the FA Cup made a special appearance. Liam spoke to FATV (video) about the preparation leading up the cup final day, his own celebrations and what's coming up for Pretty Green.
The Pretty Green Covent Garden store houses both the Black and Green label collections and features iconic imagery from Liam’s latest shoot for the Pretty Green A/W11 Collection. As with each Pretty Green store, Covent Garden will focus on providing monthly live music from a host of established and unsigned bands.
Thank you to everyone who attended, it was great to see a faithful turnout of fans to celebrate the opening of the second Pretty Green pop-up store in London.

Pretty Green in Milan shops

Sunday, May 15, 2011

MILAN - Important step, Pretty Green began in Milan but arrived only recently in the shops windows in the centre, this is where I was born. This one is near Saint George church (and the Football English Pub where Liam was), where I met Liam buying shoes in 1997, near my best friend shoes shop. And now it's Liam producing shoes.
Meanwhile, following on from the huge success of the Carnaby Street store, Pretty Green launched its second London pop-up store in Covent Garden. Located in Covent Garden's iconic East Piazza, the new store houses both the Black and Green Label collections and features iconic imagery from Liam’s latest shoot for the SS 11 collection.
Having opened to the public on Saturday 9th April, the store will be officially launched on Thursday 19th May by Liam Gallagher (same day of Dolce & Gabbana with AC players in a Milan shop, as when in July 2010 they opened the first PG shop and AC store the same day) with special guest DJs playing in-store at the exclusive event.
